Nantinet is not a large company – it was started in 2003 by me (Richard Watton) to build a couple of web sites for local companies. At the time, I was involved in a small tourist business selling cast stone Dragon garden ornaments, the design of which were based on a story that originated near to the Nant-y-moch reservoir, about 5 miles from where I live. As the web site business started in association with the tourism work, the words ‘nant-y-moch’ and ‘internet’ were contracted into ‘nantinet’ for the business name!
My background was in video game development, and I still continue to do this albeit as more of a hobby than a business. Video game design has taught me the importance of graphical impact, and that has always been an area which I concentrate on when designing a new web site. I have a web-based animation service which I use myself to create complex CSS3 animations for many of my sites.
I am a coder at heart, and I enjoy building interactive web sites. I have always been happy to spend a few extra hours developing a custom script, to add features to a web site that would otherwise be cost-prohibitive.
